About Me

I’m an experienced primary school teacher with 26 years of teaching across Walsall and Staffordshire. Much of my career has been spent in Key Stage Two, including many years teaching Year 6 and helping pupils prepare confidently for their SATs with strong, positive results.

I have also worked as a senior leader in several schools, leading both Maths and English. As part of this work, I collaborated closely with secondary teachers to strengthen the transition from primary to secondary, particularly in Maths, so I understand where learning gaps can appear and how to support children through them.

Although my main experience is in Key Stage Two, I have also taught in Key Stage One, giving me a clear understanding of the whole primary curriculum and how children progress from one stage to the next.

I have recently completed a Master’s degree in Psychology, which has added to my understanding of how children learn and what helps them feel confident and motivated. This supports my ability to:

  • Build children’s confidence and reduce worries around learning

  • Use approaches that help children remember and apply new skills

  • Support pupils with additional needs in a thoughtful, informed way

This blend of classroom experience, leadership knowledge and psychological insight means I can offer tutoring that supports both strong academic progress and a positive learning experience, helping children feel secure, capable and ready to learn.
